On May 3, 1999, the $1.5 billion, 3,036 room, 35 story, The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino opened its doors at 3355 Las Vegas Boulevard South amid the flutter of white doves, sounding trumpets and singing gondoliers, with Academy Award-winning actress Sophia Loren joining The Venetian Chairman and 64% Owner, Sheldon G. Adelson, in christening the first gondola. The Venetian opened on 1.7 million square feet of property. The Venetian is the first all-suites hotel on the Strip. Its guests enjoy spacious 700 square-foot suites with the finely appointed accommodations that include a plush private bed chamber featuring draped canopies, an oversized 130 square-foot bathroom finished in Italian marble, and a sunken living room area furnished with a convertible sofa, two upholstered chairs, a desk and game table.

The Venetian Hotel is a welcomed addition to Las Vegas Hotels located along the Las Vegas strip. Discover exquisite dining and shopping as well as world class gaming and entertainment - all under one roof at the Venetian Hotel Las Vegas. In a setting that reproduces the legendary city's most storied landmarks, The Venetian Hotel Las Vegas comes alive to captivate with its sights and sounds. Graceful arched bridges, flowing canals, vibrant piazzas and inviting stone walkways capture the spirit of Venice in faithful detail. Stroll beneath the majestic colonnades of the Doges Palace and enter the Grand Casino. Linger along the Rialto Bridge and gaze across the lagoon. Join the masked Carnivale performers who revel in St. Marks Square. Pass beneath the soaring 315-foot high Campanile and Bell Tower and discover the Grand Canal Shops. Enjoy the welcome of The Venetians magnificent piazza, the place where your visit to this fabulous "city within a city" begins.
