I bought this camera on Ebay for only $81.00 and I'm having fun learning how to take pictures with it. It sold for $1,300.00 in 1999.

My wife and I both love roses, so we decided that the time was right to go visit Renziehausen Park.

Here are 20 of the best shots from our visit to the Renziehausen Rose Garden. I shot 25, but 5 were either blurry because I didn't hold the camera still, or the flash washed out the color. These are the first pictures that I have taken with my new camera.

It was a totally overcast day, so I tried the flash on a few pictures. They didn't come out, and I deleted them. No color or detail, and completely washed out. This camera has more settings than Carter has pills, so I'll have to experiment some more. I had the camera set to "auto", so all came out except the flash ones. Holding the camera still is also a challenge. The book says to use the flash as a fill-in in daylight, but I think taking close-ups like I did was contraindicated for flash usage.

The rose garden contains some 1,200 rose bushes in 28 beds, plus an additional 3 raised beds containing 300 miniature rose bushes. There is also a large water feature with lots of koi swimming. The rose garden covers about 2 ¾ acres, but I had to cut my trip short as the batteries on my Pride Celebrity Mobility scooter died. They had just enough juice left so that I could make it back to my truck. I installed new batteries as soon as we got home.
