The Gentle Wizard

by Teri Sharp

The once was a gentle wizard -
His real power he knew not;
With luminous streaks of white and gold,
His spiritual aura was shot.
Just one sweet smile,
And he could heal a troubled heart;
He sought the true path,
But knew not where to start.
He had found his twin soul
Many, many moons ago,
But they were destined for separate lives,
And to the ocean she did go.
Through the nights the wizard wandered,
in search of that which would make him whole;
Yet he could not discover the source,
And ached deep within his soul.
Then he took the wishing stone she'd given him,
It was the color of the sea;
And rubbing it, oh so softly,
Said "Bring her back to me."
She heard the psychic call,
Though separated by thousands of miles;
They were united once again,
and the whole world glowed
With the joyfulness of their smiles.
And they laughed, and they danced,
And talked the nights away;
It was a time out of time,
For they knew she could not stay.
Softly did she reach out to him,
And he shook with the force of her power;
His magic eased them through locked doors,
Beyond the midnight hour.
Too soon their time was up -
She returned to her kingdom by the sea;
But he knew all he had to do
Was wish, and it would be.
For his feet were on the right path,
And had been from the start.
She had shown him that to find himself,
He just had to follow his heart.
Whether magic or spiritual love,
They've been linked since the very start,
And though separated by time or distance,
They'll remain as one in soul and heart.
