Reflections of Thor
by Teri Sharp
Hail thou, my beloved, my true friend;
Bold and strong, loyal to the end.
I summon thee, god of the fiery red hair;
Your flashing blue eyes lay my soul bare.
I see them, twinkling, full of laughter & fun,
Reflections on the water, backlit by a setting sun.
Fearless in battle, you protected me from all harm;
As you guide me on life's path, I feel safe & warm.
Together we shape the world with our strength and will,
And endure the climb, no matter how high the hill.
I hear your voice in the thunder's mighty roar,
Feel your caress in the wind rushing in the door,
you refresh my soul with your cleansing rain;
You bring me love and laughter, & protect me from pain.
You come to me at water's edge; I can see your face
Reflected in the trees beneath the watery trace,
I drink in your presence as the rain washes over me,
Absorbing your essence, as does flower, earth, & tree.
In pine needles crunch underfoot, I hear your throaty call,
When I hug a tree, so solid & secure, I feel you most of all.
Hail Thor, my beloved, my eternal friend;
We stand united - our bond has no end. |
