The Magician
by Teri Sharp
I am the magician, embarking on a spiritual quest;
Though at times I feel alone, I prefer my company best.
I’ve had to confront, and assimilate,
The dragons inside myself.
I’ve discovered I’m not breakable –
Don’t set me on some distant, “safe” shelf.
I’ve taken this journey upon myself,
And willingly paid the cost,
I may have detoured along the way,
But I’ve never truly gotten lost.
The treasure I’ve discovered is that I can trust myself,
And be fully “ME”.
I now know that in order to grow,
I had to be totally free.
When I played it safe and took no risks,
I felt dead inside;
But it wasn’t easy to walk away –
Many’s the night I cried.
Sometimes you have to go, to come back to what’s really true,
To find your own reality, even if others don’t agree with you.
I’ve learned that what I want & what I need isn’t always the same;
I accept responsibility for my choices –
I need assign no blame.
I’ve conquered the unknown,
And faced the worst & best that can be;
Now I know I can surmount any obstacle,
And at last I’m truly free. |
