Sinuous Dancers Of The Night
by Teri Sharp
I seek spiritual sustenance at the end of the day
By watching the lights dance in the waters of the bay.
Reflections of many a different building and boat,
These shining lights so effortlessly float,
Coloring the water in bright shades of blue,
And pinks, greens, and yellows of diverse hue.
Riding the water like gossamer butterflies,
Trying the incoming waves on for size.
Spiritual beacons for the weary mortal,
They light the entrance to Neptune's portal,
And the mirror-world to ours that exists below,
An alternate reality that changes into the tidal flow.
Undulating sensuously, the lights beckon me near -
They mesmerize my senses, and I have no fear.
They are the sinuous dancers of the night,
Weaving a web between the worlds, until dawn's first light. |
