J. H. Morgan and Mayme Stocker owned the Northern Club at 35 East Fremont St., and received the first gambling license issued by the State of Nevada in 1931. A year later Morgan opened the Nevada Club one block east of the Northern Club at 113 East Fremont St. Through several owners the Nevada Club remained at that location until 1969. During the mid 1960s it was known as Diamond Jim's Nevada Club.
