Las Vegas Financier Kirk Kerkorian opened the International Hotel at 3000 Paradise Road next to the Convention Center on July 2nd 1969. Kerkorian paid $5 million for 64.5 acres of land off of Paradise Road next to the Convention Center, spent $60 million to construct the world's largest resort hotel with 1,568 rooms, and a 30,000 square foot casino. In need of money to build the MGM Grand, Kerkorian sold the International to the Hilton Hotel Corporation in 1971 and they changed the name to he Las Vegas Hilton.

Set against a panoramic desert skyline on 80 lushly landscaped acres, the 30-story Las Vegas Hilton majestically overlooks the gaming capital of the world. Located only one block from the famed Las Vegas Strip, the world-class resort is also immediately adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center. With 3,174 luxurious rooms and suites, the Las Vegas Hilton ranks among the world's most famous and popular resort destinations, and offers every conceivable service and amenity to the 2.5 million guests who visit the property annually. The Las Vegas Hilton's lobby is a design masterpiece. It features solid glass walls accented by a 16-foot glass and brass revolving door, marble floors, and imported crystal chandeliers. Upon entering the exquisite lobby, guests immediately experience Hilton style and quality at its finest. Total casino square feet: 67,000.
