HOMEOPATHIC RESEARCH PAPERS

FORMALDEHYDE and its ANTAGONISTS
Both Chemical and Homeopathic
Center For Mankind Foundation, Inc.

[A SC 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Scientific Research Corporation]

A Treatis on eliminating Formaldehyde from the Body, Workplace and Home.

Formaldehyde itself is a very active compound, Chemically. In Hospitals, it has been used to preserve dead bodies of Mankind and Animals for over a hundred years. It is used in quite concentrated solution in water, and called "Formalin". It cannot be stored in its pure state, since it is a Gas. (boiling point -21 o C or -5.8 o F)

For convenient use, it often is changed to its polymeric forms which can be decomposed back into single Formaldehyde molecules while heating. A common compound of Formaldehyde, "Formic Acid" (which is the oxidizing product of Formaldehyde while exposed to air (Oxygen) is Acidic in nature, and is generally the compound used in the Workplace, Mobil and Manufactured Homes, Carpeting, the Lumber industry, and the Clothing industry. (sizing contains this acid compound).

While Formic acid is Acid, and Ammonia is Basic (mildly basic), Ammonia can react with Formaldehyde to form another basic compound, a harmless imine, with the by product of Water.

Both the Formaldehyde and Ammonia compounds are very similar in Chemistry.

The Chemical Equation is as follows:

The Formaldehyde Molecule's Molecular Formula is CH20, while its structural formula is:

Therefore, to ELIMINATE Formaldehyde from the Workplace, Home, Lumber (Plywood, Laminates, Carpeting, etc.) it is a simple Process to place, in an enclosed area with the Formic Acid saturated item or location, an open bowl of Lemon Scented Ammonia (easily purchased at any Grocer's) and enclose this bowl with the item for approximately 3 days by which time, BOTH the Formaldehyde AND the Ammonia will have Disappeared, being both neutralized via the process of Oxidation and Acid/Base reaction, and decomposed into their By-Products, which are, again, a harmless Imine , losing Water.

Homeopathically, Formic Acid (Formaldehyde) can be eliminated from the body proving it by exposure (inhalation or contact) via two separate methods. Since the antagonist of Formaldehyde is Ammonia, then, if inhalation occurs, as in shopping in a location which contains new Carpeting, Plywood, Lumber, Laminates, etc., New Clothing, Textiles, or looking at, living in, or selling Manufactured homes, (at which it would be impossible or impractable for the exposee to eliminate by the methods listed above the source of the Formaldehyde), it is a simple process for the potential exposee to carry with them a simple Ammonia inhaler, easily purchased at any Drug Store, and, after the exposure is over, to go outside into fresh air (oxidizing agent) and to apply the inhaler, then take several deep, clean breaths of fresh air following that inhalation. The drinking of freshly squeezed Lime juice, or the eating of a fresh lime will also act Homeopathically as an antagonist of Formaldehyde (like cures like), as listed below, it contains minute quantities of Formic acid.

The Homeopathic method of eliminating Formaldehyde reaction following exposure to this Compound, is to take Ammonium carbonicum in a 6C potency, repetition as symptoms dictate.

Symptoms of Formaldehyde poisoning or "Proving" are as follows:

  • Mind; Forgetfulness. Anxiety, Unconsciousness
  • Head; Coryza, eyes water, Vertigo
  • Mouth; Ptyalism, thick saliva; loss of taste
  • Stomach; Food feels as if it were a ball in stomach. Burning in mouth and stomach.
  • Abdomen; Intense urging to stool, watery stool.
  • Urinary: Anuria, albuminous urine
  • Respiratory: Dyspnea, Laryngismus stridulus, Whooping cough
  • Fever; Chills in forenoon, followed by long fever. Bones ache during whole paroxysm. During fever, forgets where he was.
  • Skin: leather-like, deeply wrinkled face, scales. (Marlboro Man syndrome) Eczema in neighborhood of wound. Damp sweat most marked on right upper extremities.
    Generalities: Cancer

*Some animals and plants contain Formaldehyde derivatives, mostly beneficial. Ant venom contains Formic acid, and the fresh juice of Limes does also. Formic acid in minute quantity is a necessary nutrient beneficial to the health of a Human. A Formic acid deficiency is one of the causations of Cancer. Those Persons living in Regions where the eating of live ants and ant grubs, and lots of Lime juice laden foods have been proven to be cancer-free.

The reasoning behind the treatment of carpeting, textiles, etc., with Formaldehyde, is to eliminate MOLD. Formaldehyde is the greatest antagonist of MOLD that there is.
An excellent treatment for a Moldy basement would be an open dish of Formaldehyde left in place in an enclosed room or building that is moldy, aired out after the proscribed time, and then the abovementioned Ammonia treatment for another 3 days.
NO Mold or active spores will remain on the premises
.

Dictionary:

  • Coryza: acute Rhinitis (inflammation of the mucous membranes of the nose.
  • Ptyalism: an excessive secretion of saliva
  • Anuria: absence of Urine formation
  • Albuminous urine: indicating the presence of protein in the urine, showing the breakdown of the liver or kidney care, a malfunctioning of excretory glands.
  • Dyspnea: shortness or difficulty in taking a breath.
  • Laryngismus stridulus: a spasmodic closing of the throat, making inspiration impossible.
  • Eczema; an acute inflammation of the skin
