I was born in Tacoma, WA, and raised
in Yakima, WA, and lived in the Puget Sound region for 33 years. I am retired from
24 years as a Teamster working as a District Advisor managing paper
carriers for the Seattle Times and Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspapers and get an 85% Teamster pension
and 100% SSI disability after an accident involving my old 1979 Terry
travel trailer and a stepladder. On 11/25/03 I slipped off the second
step of my ladder and jammed my left leg causing the tibia to be
crushed. I spent 6 days in Valley General Hospital after
having the damage repaired with a plate, screws, and a cadaver bone
transplant. I went through 6 weeks of physical therapy and am now able
to walk without assistance short distances. I use a handicapped scooter to get around on.

eHarmony.com was a real
lifesaver for my wife Teri and me. I had basically lived alone with very
few friends these past 58 years and was very lonely to the point of only
going out to work and shopping for groceries. I was a hermit! One day I
saw an eHarmony.com commercial and signed up. I was matched to about 10
women that didn't work out, and was about to just give up when I met
Teri. She had about 10 matches also, but ours was the right one. We love
each other deeply and are so closely matched that it's like she said,
"It's just like getting back together with an old friend." Teri and I
emailed for about two months until we decided to meet. Teri lived in
Miami Beach, FL. Since I am a Las Vegas fan, we decided to meet there at
Fitzgerald's since I get RFB (room, food, & beverage) comped. I sent her
a plane ticket and the rest is history. We got married in Las Vegas
October 30th, 2004. eHarmony.com works!

I have
worked many jobs in my life including being a carnie, circus roustabout,
asphalt plant operator, heavy equipment operator, long-haul trucker,
commercial fisherman, sanitary engineer, and bouncer in a topless night
club.
My website is dedicated to
Las Vegas and the history of downtown and Fremont Street, and contains over
260 pages.
My hobbies: Las Vegas, RVing, Metal Detecting, Railroads, and my
website. I play only table games
and have been known to spend five or more hours in a session playing
Let It Ride, Pai Gow, Craps, and Deuces Wild.
I purchased a 1995 Komfort 24FS 5th wheel
trailer on May 17th,
2005 to replace my 1979 Terry 28' travel trailer.
My cute wife and I have relocated to Pittsburgh, PA on December 1st
2005.

Teri was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and is a survivor of
twelve years at the hands of penguins (nuns) in a Catholic girls school.
She used to make the sisters cry because she wouldn't accept the
Catholic dogma at face value and kept asking them why. She has four
grown children, four grandchildren, and miscellaneous other relatives
living in the Pittsburgh area.
Teri moved to Miami Beach, FL in August of 1992 just weeks before
hurricane Andrew paid a visit. She managed a Subway Sandwich Shop on
Collins Avenue that managed to survive the hurricane unscathed. She
kept the shop open 24/7 for several days and served sandwiches to
the police, fire, rescue, and cleanup crews. The shop holds the
record for the most sales in one week at all 2,000+ Subway
restaurants. Teri lives to read books, and is never far from a
library. Her hobbies include knitting, making latch hook rugs, and
the study of ancient Egypt. Teri is an enthusiastic student of criminology and reads everything she can find
about serial killers and criminal profiling. After Teri got settled
in her new home here in Kent, I took her on a tour of the "Green
River Killer", Gary Leon Ridgeway. Using maps that I got on the
internet, I drove her to the body dumping locations, his homes, and
the Kenworth truck plant in Renton where he worked for over 20 years
while on his killing rampage. We also drove the Sea-Tac "Strip"
where Ridgeway plied his deadly trade and found his victims. Teri
had a great time taking pictures and walking in Ridgeway's footsteps
as we visited the sites where he dumped the bodies of his victims.

May 1st, 2006 - May 24th, 2006
Here I am home after spending 23 days in the hospital having Quadruple Bypass surgery and my
Aortic Valve Regurgitation repaired. It turns out that what I thought was COPD was actually CHF or congestive heart failure caused by a massive build-up of fluid in
my body which was removed by using Lasix (Furosemide). I lost over 50 pounds just from
the fluid loss. My left lung had collapsed and that was what was causing
me to be so short of breath. After a brush with death - I was only a day
or two away - I am now recovering nicely. I was on a steady decline for about a year and was so
debilitated that I could barely walk or breathe. I feel 100% better.
I smoked
my last cigarette on May 1st. I have been given a second chance on life and am
starting to have a real good time. My wife is really happy too as she
has her husband back.
If you smoke, quit! Make sure that you
eat right and stay away from junk food that is nothing more than salt and grease.
It's not that hard - just read the labels and eat fresh and healthy meals.
I am only 59 years old and would have died had I not gotten to the
hospital when I did. I was fortunate to get a second chance at a longer
life.

June 3rd - I weighed 287 pounds on May 1st.
I have always been overweight and weighed 275-320 pounds for the past
30 years. Today I weigh only
200 pounds! So far I have lost
87 pounds! I can't
believe how good I feel now after the May 10th surgery and subsequent
weight loss. I am still as weak as a kitten, but physical therapy
will get me back to being active once again. Climbing the stairs is
becoming easier and I am not out of breath when I get to the top.
Here I am on July 7th, 2004 weighing
about 280 pounds.
The pants are a size 52, and the shirt is XXL.
June 5th - Now for some clothes that fit. Everything I own is size XXL and
the waist in all of my pants is 50 inches. Now I don't have to shop at
big & tall stores for clothes. I have gone from a 50 (fifty) inch
waist to a 43 (forty-three) inch waist. I ordered two pair of shorts from
Wal*Mart in a 42 inch waist, and will pick up some size L tee shirts. I will
finally start driving again next Sunday, so we're going to hit a few places
like Goodwill and the Salvation Army for other clothes. Time to go through
my closet and give the fat clothes away. This will be fun shopping for new
things as I now wear a normal size 42 pants and that's usually the largest
available at most stores. Anything larger is always more money as it's
considered big n' tall. My weight has finally stopped at 195 as I had
lost 12 pounds in the past five days. I am taking Lasix to keep the water off.
I drilled six new holes in my belt so that I could cinch it up enough to
keep my pants from falling off. I am going to save the belt and wear it
as a reminder as to how fat I was before this recent weight loss.
Here I am
June 7th, 2006 in my new size 42 jeans @ 193 pounds.
Now
to do something about this craving for a cigarette that's me making
slightly crazy...
The last one I smoked was about noon on May 1st.
